The Northeast Generals' offense had a big night, peppering the Cape Cod Islanders with 35 shots throughout the game. The Northeast Generals took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Brian Shea.
Austin Braley did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Marc Faia contributed with 3 assists. Leevi Kervinen chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first, Braley opened the scoring for Northeast with a goal at 6:02 with a helper from his linemate Faia. Braley quickly followed with a goal at 6:34 with helpers from O’dowd and Norrefjord.
During the second, Shea netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:10 with assists from his linemates, Braley and Faia. Hamel put in a goal at 18:47 with helpers from teammates Faia and O’dowd.
In the third period, Hinckley finally put the Islanders on the board with a goal at 8:33 with an assist from Kervinen. Kervinen quickly followed with a goal at 10:24 with a helper from St. Amand.
Northeast’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Wagner’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced. Wagner’s counterpart, Lake, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 35, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Northeast Generals’ record to (8-4-1-0).
