Rydek's big night helped the Generals crush the Sharks 6-3

Tyler Rydek had a big night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) as the Northeast Generals crushed the Long Beach Sharks 6-3 in a home game at Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena in Northeast. In addition, the Northeast Generals' offense had a big night, peppering the Sharks with 67 shots throughout the game. The Northeast Generals took the lead late in the second on a goal from Todd Gianetis.

Marc Faia did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Todd Gianetis delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Charlie Bedard contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Gordie Gerstner chipped in with 2 assists.

During the first, Smith opened the scoring for Long Beach with a goal at 8:54 with helpers from his teammates Bedard and Bergman. Faia answered for the Generals with a goal at 17:19 with helpers from his linemates, Rydek and Gianetis. Rydek quickly followed with a goal at 18:28 with assists from Hamel and Faia.

During the second period, Carlock answered for the Sharks with a goal at 1:56 with helpers from his linemates, Gerstner and Brand. Rydek answered for the Generals with a goal at 4:56 with assists from Hamel and Lopaev. Gianetis scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:12 with helpers from his linemates, Faia and Rydek.

During the third period, O’dowd put in a goal at 2:30 with assists from Lopaev and Hamel. Bedard quickly followed with a goal at 4:01 with helpers from Bergman and Gerstner. Lopaev answered for the Generals with a goal at 13:42 with an assist from his linemate Marcola.

Northeast’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Sesock’s big night as he stopped 15 of the 17 shots he faced. Sesock’s counterpart, Cortez, also had a big night, managing to stop 61 of 67, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Northeast Generals’ record to (17-6-2-0).
