Behind two goals and one assist from Mike Jessman and one goal and one assist from Anthony Giannelli, Cape Cod downed Northeast 6-3.
Jessman scored the first of his two goals at 2:51 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Cape Cod. Aaron Deady picked up the assist. Jessman\’s next tally made the score 5-3 Cape Cod with 15:56 left in the third period. Cape Cod had taken the advantage when Northeast\’s Alex ODowd got sent off for high sticking. Eric Szeker assisted on the tally. Giannelli scored 14:58 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Cape Cod. Brendan Sullivan picked up the assist.
Cape Cod forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time.
