The Generals kept up the dominating start to their NA3HL season with a series sweep over the New Jersey Titans on the road, winning 4-2 and 8-3 respectively on Friday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 21.
Friday saw the Generals start the scoring early, with goals in the first and second period from the likes of new comer forward John Rodgers and Captain forward Sean Gorman giving the Gens a 2-0 lead. Leading scorer forward Gabe Vijuk scored the game winning goal in the third, while defensemen Colin March scored his first of the season to give Northeast the 4-2 victory. Goaltender Daniel Antal stopped 39 of 41 shots.
Saturday’s matchup was an offensive explosion in the second and third periods after a 1-1 tie through the first. The Generals put up four goals in the second alone to make it 5-2 through two, and another three goals in the third to end it at 8-3. Northeast outshot the Titans 63-24 in the game, while goaltender Mike Foglia blocked away 21 of 24 shots.
The NA3HL team will be back in action the first weekend of November, starting on November 3rd at home against the Norwich Sea Captains.
