Clarke put up amazing numbers tallying 27 goals and 32 assists for 59 points while helping to lead the Generals to their first Fraser Cup appearance. In his 3 years in the NA3HL (previously with the Skylands Kings) Clarke played in 104 games. In his 104 games James recorded 84 goals and 80 assists for 164 points.

In his 1 year with the Generals Clarke was able to etch his name in the record books:

– 5th all time with a 1.595 PPG
– 10th best points in a season (59)
– 8th in goals in a season (27)
– 10th in +/- in a season (+47)

“James was great from Day 1. He is such a great kid, very mature, came into the room and was a leader both on and off the ice from the first practice. What he does on the ice is special too. He doesn’t just score goals, he is hard to play against, wins battles and is a great skater. He improved a lot along the walls too, which was a big factor in his development. Just a great kid to see everyday at the rink. Always happy, always working hard. Really proud of James and his commitment to such a great school and hockey program in Suffolk.” Said Head Coach Darryl Locke.

Bryan Erikson, President of Hockey Ops, added “Great commitment for James. Worked really hard this year and was just a pleasure to be around. Very skilled, very polished player and a very mature young man. Really happy to continue to build on our relationship with Suffolk. He joins former Generals Joe Vingi and Shawn Montgomery. Both players have made big impacts on the Suffolk program and we expect James to do so as well. We wish James the best of luck in his future both in the classroom and on the ice.”

Suffolk University plays in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with some of the best teams at the NCAA DIII level. Suffolk plays schools such as the University of New England, Endciott, Curry College and Salve Regina to name a few.
