Cape Cod outlasts Northeast, 5-3

The game between Cape Cod and Northeast was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Cape Cod emerged with a 5-3 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Maxime Dordet at 18:18 of the third period.

Cape Cod was led by Dordet, who grabbed one goal and one assist.

In the losing effort, Northeast was led by Kevin Perry, who racked up two goals and one assist. Perry scored the first of his two goals at 10:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Northeast. Travis Hyde assisted on the tally. Perry\’s next tally made the score 2-0 Northeast with 14:35 left in the second period. Luke Whalen provided the assist.

Cape Cod forced Northeast goalie Trevor Trudeau to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots.

Cape Cod also got points from Mike Jessman, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cape Cod also had goals scored by James Brosnan, Steven Mathews, and Max Campbell, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cape Cod came via Zack Goodman, Anthony Giannelli, Dan Moore, Chris ODonnell, and Mitchell Eldridge, who each chipped in one.

Northeast additionally got points from Hyde, who also had one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Northeast were Tommy Bellew, who had two.

Jonathan Stone rejected 24 shots on goal for Cape Cod. Cape Cod incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Northeast\’s Trudeau stopped 53 shots out of the 58 that he faced. Northeast incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
